Erin C. Falvey-Hogue is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been practicing therapy since 2004. Erin believes that optimal physical and emotional wellness is achieved when the effects of life stressors are treated from a holistic perspective. Her therapeutic practice focuses upon supporting her clients to feel empowered in their healthcare, relationships, and social contexts.

In addition to her therapeutic focus on individual, relational, and community empowerment, Erin has worked extensively with trauma, violent loss bereavement, the LGBTQ community, chronic health conditions, and stress management.

Erin earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, San Diego. She earned her Ph.D. in Education at San Diego State University and Claremont Graduate University. She is a graduate of the UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Health Care Executive Program. Additionally, Erin has completed the Mental Health Professional Certificate Course through the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and is a member of ASRM and the ASRM Mental Health Professional Group. She has also completed Postpartum Support International’s Perinatal Mental Health Certification Program coursework and is a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C). Erin has extensive training in EMDR and Brainspotting and is a Certified Brainspotting Therapist

Erin has a clinical, research, and intervention development background focusing on social justice, cultural competency, and empowerment-based approaches. In addition to numerous presentations for local organizations, Erin has presented to larger audiences both locally and nationally on trauma-informed care and healthcare engagement for women, children, and families living with HIV/AIDS through multiple peer-reviewed abstracts and invited speaking engagements, the most notable being at the White House Commemoration and Annual Observance of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day in 2015 and the White House United State of Women in 2016.

Erin maintains a private practice in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego, CA and provides therapy via telehealth throughout California and Colorado. She is also currently serving as a faculty member and technical assistance provider on trauma-informed care for the HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau project: Evidence-Informed Interventions Coordinating Center for Technical Assistance.
